Tourism

Promoting and Growing the Industry

Wyoming is blessed with abundant wildlife, scenic landscapes and amazing outdoor recreation opportunities.  As I campaign for Governor's seat, I want to assure you that I am a strong advocate for continued investments to promote and grow Wyoming's tourism industry. Tourism brings new dollars to the state's economy, provides needed revenue to local and state governments, and creates jobs in Wyoming. Moreover, the importance of tourism businesses like retail and restaurants to our economy goes well beyond attracting visitor revenue. Even with today's national economy, people tend to work where they want to live. Vibrant communities with thriving retail and restaurants keep young families in Wyoming and attract workers and businesses looking to relocate to the state.

As Governor, I will be committed to:

  • Efforts aimed at getting visitors to spend more time and money in Wyoming;
  • Technical training that helps our youth pursue careers in the lodging and hospitality industry, including management jobs, becoming chefs and starting their own business;
  • Improving Wyoming's business climate which will help tourism-related businesses grow;
    Helping local communities find ways to attract visitors and increase the length of their stay, which will help bring in needed revenue; and
  • Fighting the federal government on dictating polices like reducing snowmobile use that cripple small businesses, making sure that Wyoming's voice is heard on these issues and promoting balanced multiple use of our natural resources.
